Resolved IT was contacted by an IT Manager on a Friday afternoon at 4:30PM. The business had been affected by ransomware, 250+ computers and 30+ virtual servers were totally locked and unusable. Employee productivity was ground to a halt. Resolved IT presented this business with a proposal based on an hourly rate and went to work right away. Two technicians worked a combined 30 hours over the weekend and were able to completely wipe and restore all computers to a usable state, restore all data back to servers, deploy anti-encryption and anti-malware software, deploy e-mail spam and malware/phishing filtering, deploy new hardware firewalls to several locations, and identify where the attack originated from. The following week our CEO gave a presentation to staff in a mandatory all-hands virtual meeting on: 1. What happened 2. How it happened and 3. How to identify a phishing e-mail attack.
